It was in mid 1994, whilst working as a Sales Executive for one of Australia's largest moving companies, that Melbourne businesswoman Susan Williams experienced first-hand the stresses and demands placed on people moving home. She also saw an opportunity - none of Australia's major removalists provided a home unpacking service once they had delivered their clients' goods.

In January 1995, Susan commenced business as The Finishing Touch (TFT) from her home in Melbourne. She hired her sisters and her Mum (!!) as her first employees, and set about providing home unpacking and set-up for busy corporate executives.

From these modest beginnings the company now employs 225 staff in Australia and continues to grow strongly, expanding its range of helpful services in all Australian states. TFT is acknowledged as one of the largest and most successful mature-age employers in the nation. The company also employs 50 staff at nine locations in New Zealand.

Susan's extensive world travels, corporate career with Orix Corporation in Japan and working with Bob Ansett at Budget Rent-A-Car have given her very strong ideals. TFT teams are dedicated to exceptional client service, quality, and continual innovation.

Finishing Touch teams have now completed more than 50,000 assignments in Australia since inception and won more than 20 major business awards for their commitment to providing an exceptional client experience.

News continues to spread far and wide. The Finishing Touch regularly fields enquiries from overseas folk looking for a smooth home transition to start their new life Down Under.
